Bright Language Test
Whether you are planning to study at a Canadian educational institution where English is the language of instruction or are looking for a quick and reliable way to find out your level of English (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, or CEFRL), the Bright Language Test is an excellent option for proving that you have the language skills required.
Our language school provides the Bright Language Test – 2 skills (oral comprehension and written comprehension). The test costs $130 + taxes. This amount is non-refundable or transferable.
Our testing takes place every other Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. The tests can be conducted in English or French and take place in person at our language school, located at 1435 Drummond Street, 5th floor (Peel metro).

To register for the Bright Language Test
- Registration must be submitted at least one week in advance.
- You must create an online profile before submitting your registration request. To create your profile – click here.
- Once you have created your profile, send us an email at infolang@ymcaquebec.org with three important pieces of information to continue the process:
- Specify that you have created your profile
- Specify the language to be tested
- Specify the date on which you wish to be tested
- You will then receive a confirmation email so you can send your payment.
- On the day of your test, please arrive 15 minutes early with valid ID (passport, driver’s license, health insurance card).
Bright Language Test Preparation Course
We offer online private and group Bright Language Test prep courses to prepare students for the test. This prep course provides students with a good command of the vocabulary, grammar, syntax, and listening strategies needed to achieve the desired score in speaking (oral comprehension) and writing (written comprehension)

Preparation course for the Test d’évaluation du français adapté pour le Québec (TEFAQ)
Evening course – in person
This course is aimed at individuals who need to pass the B2 level of the TEFAQ test. It helps learners improve their oral comprehension and expression to meet the language requirements to immigrate to Québec or for admission to a Francophone university.
Monday and Wednesday | From 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (ET)

This course is for people who need to present proof of French proficiency for admission to certain Québec universities.

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Preparation Course
Our IELTS Prep course trains students to develop their academic English proficiency in preparation for the IELTS exam, which is an admission prerequisite for certain universities. It also prepares students to take the General IELTS test needed for immigration and employment purposes.
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Preparation Course
In our TOEFL Prep course, students receive strategies and tips to develop four key skills: reading, listening, speaking, and writing. With regular, detailed feedback from highly qualified instructors, the course prepares students for academic English proficiency at the university level and helps learners who wish to enrich their advanced English vocabulary and improve their critical thinking skills.
Test for English for International Communication (TOEIC) Preparation Course
Our TOEIC Prep course helps learners develop the language proficiency required for professional and career development in an international environment. Proficiency levels demonstrate communication mastery in English within the business, commerce, and industrial fields.
